Aleene G. Griffin was born to Charley Levy and Myrtle May Proctor on September 21, 1907, south of Hastings, Oklahoma and passed from this life on July 2, 2001 in Temple, Oklahoma. Aleene, a homemaker, married Bill Griffin on September 17, 1927. He preceded her in death on January 26, 1991.

Aleene was a member of the First Baptist Church in Waurika.

Aleene is survived by: one son - Bill J. Griffin of Comanche, OK; two sisters - Gertrude Barber of Duncan, OK, and Odessa McClarty of Hastings, OK; two grandchildren - Michelle Davison of Richardson, TX, and Gregg Griffin of Springfield, MO; four great-grandchildren - Travis Griffin, Erin Griffin, Christopher Mudd and Allison Mudd.

Aleene was preceded in death by three brothers and one sister.

Funeral services were held in First Baptist Church of Waurika on Friday, July 6, 2001, at 10:00 AM, with Tommy Billings and Tim Bowen officiating. Burial was in the Hastings Cemetery under the direction of Dudley Funeral Home of Waurika.
