Aldene Smith
Aldene Smith was born December 13, 1924 in Ryan, Oklahoma to Tom B. and Annie Cleo Rodgers Smith. He passed from this life February 13, 2010 at his home in Ryan at the age of eighty-five. He and Orpha Darlene Whitsett were married Marc 6, 1946 in Wichita Falls, Texas. Aldene served his country in the United States Air Force in World War II and retired in 1965 after twenty-two years of service to his country. He worked for Jefferson County District #3 and retired after eighteen years of service to the county. He was also a member of the American Legion.
He is survived by his wife Darlene of the home in Ryan, sons - Jerry Dale Smith and wife Jan of Wichita Kansas and Rodger Lee Smith and wife Peggy of Comanche, Oklahoma, daughters - Vanetta Geraldene Harmon of Wichita Falls, Texas, Alice Marie McDonald and husband John of Marlow, Oklahoma, and Dora Anne Huff and husband Terry of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, sister - Fern Gayle Rodgers of Ryan, Oklahoma, thirteen grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.
Aldene was preceded in death by his parents, brother - John Tilden, and sister - Nelda Nadine.
Funeral service will be Wednesday, February 17, 2010 at 2:00PM at the Ryan Assembly of God with Bro. Paul Ratliff and Bro. Jim Gillum officiating. Visitation will be at Dudley Funeral Home in Ryan from 10AM-6PM Tuesday and Wednesday from10-noon. Memorials may be made to the Assembly of God Church in Ryan.
