Aaron Wood, III
Aaron Wood, III, of Waurika, Oklahoma, passed from this life Friday, October 17, 2014, in Wichita Falls, Texas. He was born February 22, 1949, to Edgar Aaron and Irene Curtis Wood in Waurika, Oklahoma.
He graduated from Wichita Falls High School in 1967. He attended Bethany Nazarene College in 1967 where he met Barbara. In 1968, Barbara and Aaron married and he joined the United States Marine Corps. In 1970, Edgar and Irene and Aaron and Barbara formed Wood Family Enterprises in Iowa Park, Texas. In 1975, he moved to Waurika where he enjoyed ranching and farming. Aaron loved his dogs and skydiving. He was a member of the U.S. Parachute Association. He started many businesses and loved raising Great Danes most of all. He will be missed by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his father Edgar, his mother Irene, his daughter Rebecca, his auntie Lorene Wood and his cousins Robert Dean and Johnny Curtis.
He leaves behind: his children - Porscha Dawn Wood of Bethany, OK, and Christopher Aaron Wood and his wife Tina of Waurika, OK; his brother Mike Wood and Celeste; his sister Mary Wood; his grandchildren - Mason Sierra Johnson, Gage Taylor Johnson, Ayden Quen Lopez, Trinity Grace Lopez, Brittany Rene Wood, Tori Michelle Wood, Jacob Aaron Wood, Elizabeth Ann Wood, and Anna Rose Wood; and great-grandchildren - Tanner and Abigail.
Services for Mr. Wood will be at 10:00 AM, Friday, October 24, at the First Baptist Church in Waurika with Bob Waitman and Jessie Goss officiating. Burial will follow in the family plot in Waurika. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM to8:00 PM, Thursday at the Dudley Funeral Home Chapel in Waurika with the family in attendance from 5:00 to 7:00 PM. Pallbearers will be Josh Phillips, Dustin Phillips, Zack Phillips, Braden Wood, Mason Johnson, and Gage Johnson.
