Wilda Sue Cross

Wilda Sue Cross was born October 25, 1952 in Waurika, Oklahoma to Clyde Franklin and Mary Wilda (Fulton) Cross. She passed from this life Sunday, February 6, 2022 at the age of 69. Wilda graduated from Ringling Public Schools in 1970. She graduated from Southeastern State College in Durant, Oklahoma with a bachelor of Arts in Education in 1974. She obtained her Master of Education from Emporia State University in Emporia, Kansas. She taught High School English, Foreign Languages and Debate at Onega and Erie, Kansas.
Wilda was an active member of United Methodist Churches in Collinsville, OK, Midlothian, TX, and Saginaw, TX.
Wilda was an avid knitter and quilter, and she also loved to read. She was active in her church and Sunday School classes. Much of her life was devoted to teaching. She was the teacher that students feared to take her class, but once they did, they knew she cared and wanted them to excel. She impacted many students over her years of teaching.
She is survived by her God daughter - Stephanie Morgan and her husband Brian of Lewisville, Texas, Brothers - Frank Taylor Cross and his wife Winona of Durant, Oklahoma, Dave Kenneth Cross and his wife Betty of Collinsville, Oklahoma, and Joseph B. Cross and his wife Nona of Flower Mound, Texas.
Graveside service for Miss Cross will be Friday, February 11, 2022 at 2:30PM at Addington Cemetery with Rev. Mike Norfleet officiating. Visitation will also be Friday from 12:30-2PM at Dudley Funeral Home Chapel in Waurika.
